Key Responsibilities:

The purpose of the Marketing and Fundraising intern is to support the growth and sustainability of Bold Hope for Children Initiative by through marketing, communications, sponsorship drives, and resource mobilisation activities. The intern will work closely with the Bold Hope committee team to enhance the initiative’s visibility, strengthen engagement with donors and partners and support fundraising campaigns that advance the organisation's mission of transforming the lives of vulnerable children.

Integrated Marketing Communications

  • Support the committee in developing and implanting innovative marketing, fundraising and communication strategies.
  • Manage social media platforms, website content, and digital campaigns under guidance of the committee.
  • Create compelling content, including success stories, newsletters, brochures, promotional materials and merchandise in alignment with brand guidelines
  • Support the development and publication of a quarterly newsletter highlighting impact, activities and fundraising updates
  • Support initiatives that enhance the visibility and public profile of Bold Hope for Children Initiative.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communication activities.

Sponsorship and Donor Engagement

  • Support the coordination of fundraising campaigns and engagement activities.
  • Maintain and update the sponsors database
  • Maintain and track the merchandise inventory
  • Support the establishment and management of virtual and physical merchandise stores for Bold Hope with regional office
  • Manage and update records of new sponsorship and donor commitments
  • Manage and monitor the Bold Hope email account and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Support the preparation of grant proposals, donor reports and funding applications.
  • Prepare and communicate updates to sponsors

Resource Mobilization and Partnerships

  • Research and identify grant and funding opportunities relevant to the initiative
  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with staff, sponsors, donors, and other partners.
  • Support efforts to identify and develop new funding opportunities that contribute to the sustainability of the Bold Hope Initiative.
  • Track funding opportunities and maintain an up-to-date grants and funding pipeline.
  • Support proposal development and donor engagement activities
  • Contribute to the development of relationships and partnerships with donors, corporate partners, and development organizations
  • Support resource mobilization initiatives, fundraising and campaign events, and the preparation of reports and presentations
  • Participate in meetings, forums, and events on behalf of the initiative as delegated

Other responsibilities:

· Carry out additional responsibilities as may be required.

Required education, training, license, registration and/or certification:

  • Have a Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
  • Registration, active membership or demonstrated interest in professional marketing associations such as the Marketing Society of Kenya will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates with additional specialised training or certifications in marketing, communications, fundraising, resource mobilization, grant writing, or related fields will have an added advantage.

Required professional experience:

  • Previous internship, volunteer, campus leadership or practical experience in marketing, communications, fundraising or related field will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in fundraising, grant writing, resource mobilization, or business development.
  • Strong digital marketing and social media management skills.
  • Knowledge in proposal writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, Canva, CRM systems, and other digital tools.
  • Good networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Planning and organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple activities
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and support fundraising targets.
  • Report writing, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exhibit and communicate World Vision's Values and Christian ethos
  • Demonstrate spiritual life that transcends denominational differences.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English

Required travel and/or work environment accommodations:

The position will be office based and with minimal travel to the field offices
