Batten University, a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for a Men’s and Women's Track and Field Graduate Assistant. Batten University is located in Virginia Beach, VA, and sponsors 24 varsity sports teams, supporting almost 500 student-athletes.
The qualified applicant will report to the Head Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach. The individual will assist with all aspects of the Men's and Women's Track and Field program, including recruitment of quality student-athletes, scheduling, managing and coaching meets, planning as well as conducting practices. This individual will also be organizing team travel, monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress, equipment maintenance, fundraising and other administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach. Additionally, a thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, and institutional rules and regulations is necessary.
Review of applications will begin immediately. This is a graduate assistant position. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Tuition remission for graduate programs is included as well as a stipend. Preference will be given to applicants with college coaching experience and/or experience as a college track and field student-athlete. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the university’s auto insurance carrier.
