Job Description

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority welcomes exceptional talent with a passion to realise the vision and mission of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a prime local and international destination for arts, culture and entertainment.

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Intern to support our Strategic Partnerships and Events team of Business Development Department. This role offers hands-on experience in partner relationship management, venue hiring, and event coordination—ideal for recent graduates looking to break into marketing, business development, or event management.

You will be responsible for:

  • supporting day-to-day administration, operations and reporting of the cross-departmental Public Open Space and Special Venue Hiring Committee;
  • assisting in implementing the complete venue hiring and advertising sales process, which includes handling inquiries and site visits, preparing proposals, license agreements, and invoices, applying the VEM system, managing events, and conducting post-event follow-ups;
  • communicating and working closely with other departments to ensure smooth delivery of all planned and ad-hoc events;
  • conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify potential sales and new business;
  • providing a wide range of administrative support to the team in a timely manner to ensure the smooth running of business operations;
  • assisting in identifying, researching, and onboarding strategic partners and maintain partnership databases, track agreements;
  • maintaining and building good relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders; and
  • performing any other duties from time to time as the Authority may reasonably direct.

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in marketing and communication, event management, business administration, or related disciplines;
  • be detail-minded, strong sense of responsibility and positive working attitude is a must;
  • have good initiative and be self-motivated, able to work independently and multitasking;
  • be proficient in creating high-quality PowerPoint decks to effectively communicate information and ideas in visually appealing and informative presentations;
  • possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
  • be proficient in MS Office suite is required; experience in design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva) is a strong advantage; and
  • be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin.

About West Kowloon Cultural District Authority

Stretching across 40 hectares of reclaimed land, WestK is one of the largest cultural projects in the world, blending art, education and open space.

Its vision is to create a vibrant cultural quarter for Hong Kong where the local arts scene can interact, develop and collaborate. Providing 23 hectares of public open space with two kilometres of vibrant harbour-front promenade it will also include a variety of arts and cultural facilities that will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and arts and cultural events.

A Development Plan for the District, based on well-received Foster + Partner’s Conceptual Plan, was approved by the Chief Executive-in-Council in January 2013. Overlooking the magnificent Victoria Harbour, the District will begin to take shape over the next decade.

By developing this sizable project in phases we can start to bring the district to life. The Xiqu Centre, Freespace, Art Park, M+, Hong Kong Palace Museum and Lyric Theatre Complex, will be developed as a first batch of facilities aiming for opening to the public.
