Since starting in 2012, CMW Geosciences has expanded to 23 offices with over 350 employees across Australia and New Zealand. We are hard-working, down-to-earth, and passionate engineers and geologists who provide quality geotechnical site investigation, analysis, and design advice to the construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
As part of the Kiwa Group, we're backed by a global network of 12,000+ staff across 35+ countries
Our Brisbane office is looking to bring on a Graduate Geophysicist/Engineering Geologist. This role would suit somebody who has recently graduated or is set to graduate by the end of 2026.
As a graduate at CMW, you'll be treated like an industry professional from the get-go. After completing the necessary training and inductions, you'll go out in the field to learn the practical field skills that form the basis of the technical work we do. You'll have access to senior technical staff to guide you through the early stages of your career and fast-track your growth. You'll be exposed to the full project lifecycle to start to prepare you for a career from day one. Unlike larger organizations, you won't be siloed into one stream of the business or handed low-responsibility tasks for the first year. You'll be learning technical, practical and project-related skills, and within 3-4 years, we expect you'll be able to manage and run projects from start to finish.
CMW Geosciences graduates' step into hands-on, field-based roles where you'll build and expand your technical knowledge and expertise every day. A typical day could include: Site works for any of the land based geophysical methods, including refraction, MASW, resistivity, or GPR. LiDAR surveys using drones, or positioning of intrusive tests with RTK GNSS systems.
If you're in the office, you would likely be processing geophysical data, and drafting of maps and sections, writing technical reports and assisting project managers with deliverables.
Our range of projects are diverse across countries and offices: you could be communicating design elements to contractors on a community housing development in Rotorua. Or, be in regional Queensland at the MacIntyre Windfarm, completing a seismic survey and providing construction phase support. Or, across the country in Perth at Jandakot Airport undertaking MASW testing and GPR.
