As a Graduate Design Engineer, you'll join a supportive team of engineers, designers and consultants who are passionate about solving problems, sharing knowledge and developing future talent.

Whether your interests lie in structures, infrastructure, drainage, highways or sustainable design, we'll help you discover where your strengths and passions fit best.

What you'll be doing

You will be involved in designing structures that form the backbone of the built environment, working alongside experienced engineers to create safe, efficient and sustainable solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with structural calculations and analysis.
• Developing designs using a range of construction materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Producing technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Supporting projects through design development and construction.
• Working with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Learning how structural engineering decisions influence project outcomes.
• Building your understanding of project delivery and client requirements.
• Taking part in wider Curtins activities including STEM outreach, charity initiatives and community projects.

What kind of projects will I get to work on?

You could work on:

• Commercial developments.
• Residential and high-rise buildings.
• Schools, colleges and universities.
• Healthcare facilities.
• Industrial and manufacturing buildings.

What we're looking for

We're looking for curious, motivated graduates who enjoy solving problems and working collaboratively.

You'll ideally have:

• A degree (or be predicted to achieve one) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills.
• An interest in shaping sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
