The Graduate Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of capital and continuous improvement projects across Fiji Water's operations. The role provides hands-on exposure to project engineering, manufacturing processes, utilities, and engineering systems while developing the technical and leadership capabilities required for progression into a Project Engineer role. The Graduate Engineer will work closely with Project Engineers, Operations, Reliability, and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives.

  • Support Project Engineers in the planning, execution, and monitoring of capital and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with project scoping, cost estimation, scheduling, and resource planning activities.
  • Coordinate project documentation, drawings, specifications, and project records.
  • Participate in equipment installations, commissioning, testing, and validation activities.
  • Assist in preparing engineering drawings, P&IDs, and as-built documentation.
  • Support contractor and supplier coordination while ensuring compliance with Fiji Water safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting to support project decision-making.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with plant shutdown planning and project implementation activities.
  • Monitor project progress and escalate risks, delays, or issues to Project Engineers and Manager Projects.
  • Support development of business cases for future capital projects.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and environmental requirements are incorporated into all assigned activities.
  • Build technical knowledge of manufacturing systems, bottling operations, and utility services.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or related discipline).
  • 2–3 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

  • Internship or industrial attachment experience within manufacturing, utilities, or project environments.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, project management tools, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles
