Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA) is offering a Graduate EMS Engineer position within our Engineering & Technical Services (E&TS) team.

This role provides an opportunity to work across a range of engineering process and governance activities that support real Defence aviation operations. You’ll be exposed to how engineering procedures, tools, and systems are developed and maintained to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient engineering outcomes.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and stakeholders, gaining hands‑on experience applying engineering system and process principles to real‑world Defence challenges.

What you’ll be doing

As a Graduate EMS Engineer, you will:

  • Support the development and drafting of Engineering Process and Operational Procedure (PrOP) documents
  • Assist with reviewing engineering documentation for clarity, quality, and compliance with company standards
  • Help manage engineering changes, ensuring updates are assessed, controlled, and communicated effectively
  • Support governance forums and collaborate with stakeholders across engineering teams
  • Contribute to maintaining compliance through tools such as the EMS Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)
  • Assist with the improvement of engineering processes and tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and document owners to support engineering outcomes

This role provides an opportunity to build your capability, learn from experienced engineers, and develop confidence in a structured Defence engineering environment. This role is based in Brisbane.

Eligibility requirements:

We’re seeking motivated early-career engineers who are eager to learn in a Defence aviation environment. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Avionics, or a related Engineering discipline
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • An interest in engineering processes, governance, and systems
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across multiple teams
  • An interest in Defence aviation and working within a regulated engineering environment
