
The role provides communications, media and stakeholder engagement support across the Corporate Affairs and Public Relations function, helping to build and protect the reputation of MTN Group Fintech and MoMo, while giving the graduate structured exposure to strategic communications in a fast-moving fintech environment.
Monitor and compile coverage of MTN Group Fintech, MoMo, competitors and the wider fintech and financial services sector.
Support the drafting of media statements, press releases, speaker briefings and responses to media queries for review by senior team members.
Assist with maintaining media lists and coordinating interviews and media engagements, under supervision.
Draft and proofread articles, newsletters, LinkedIn posts and internal communications using approved templates and brand guidelines.
Support the planning and scheduling of content across owned corporate channels.
Assist with tracking digital and social media engagement and compiling performance reports.
Support the planning and logistics of corporate events, sponsorships and stakeholder engagements, including guest lists, invitations, branding and printed materials.
Assist with preparing briefing documents, key messaging and talking points for executives and spokespeople.
Maintain stakeholder databases and support post-event follow-up, under supervision.
Monitor media, industry and regulatory developments that may affect the reputation of MTN Group Fintech and the mobile money sector.
Support the preparation of media monitoring reports, coverage summaries and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
Assist with flagging emerging reputational issues to the team promptly, for escalation by senior team members.
Liaise with internal stakeholders such as marketing, product, legal, risk, compliance and regional market teams to gather information for communications.
Support coordination with external PR and creative agencies where required, under supervision.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and learning initiatives.
Support the planning and delivery of CSI projects on a rolling basis throughout the year, including Mandela Day, Y’ello Care and other community and employee volunteering initiatives.
Assist with coordinating beneficiaries, partners, volunteers, logistics and branded materials for CSI activities, under supervision.
Capture project documentation, photos and stories, and support the preparation of CSI reports and communications content for internal and external channels.
Actively participate in the structured graduate internship programme.
Complete assigned learning modules, projects, and assessments.
Demonstrate continuous improvement in communications knowledge, commercial understanding, and professional skills.
Undertake any other work or duties that may reasonably be required by the role or assigned by the line manager.
