AECOM's environmental practice is dedicated to helping industries, clients and governments meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment. We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance, manage impacts and reduce risks, including obtaining permits and approvals, decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites, and tackling climate change challenges and resilience. We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every stage of a project.

This role offers a balance of fieldwork and office-based activities, providing exposure to local and interstate site investigations, environmental assessments, data analysis and technical reporting. You'll have opportunities to work on projects across a variety of sectors and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors to help deliver sustainable environmental outcomes.

This role is for an immediate start.

How you’ll make a difference:

  • Support preliminary and detailed site investigations, including field sampling, data collection and reporting.
  • Assist with contaminated land assessments and environmental due diligence studies.
  • Analyse environmental data and contribute to the preparation of technical reports and digital deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of remedial action plans and site validation reports.
  • Participate in site works and contractor supervision during remediation activities.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists across environmental, engineering and planning disciplines.

Qualifications

The qualities that help you thrive:

  • Completed a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, agriculture or earth science (understanding of core sciences and soils an advantage)
  • Relevant experience in contaminated land management, environmental services, or a related field is welcomed.
  • Proficiency in site investigations including sampling for soil, soil vapour, surface water and groundwater
  • A commitment to health, safety and environmental best practice when working in both office and field-based environments.
  • A willingness to undertake fieldwork, including travel to regional locations as required.
  • A current driver's licence and the ability to obtain a Defence security clearance.
