Purpose:

Supports the UT Social Work Recruitment Office in delivering comprehensive recruitment and outreach initiatives across the BSW, MSSW, and PhD programs by coordinating events, managing communications, and enhancing the prospective student experience through responsive and organized administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support for virtual and in-person recruitment, orientation, and engagement events across the BSW, MSSW, and PhD programs.
  • Serve as the Lead Dean’s Ambassador by supporting ambassador communication, scheduling, coordination, and event participation.
  • Assist with recruitment event planning, logistics, setup, check-in, and execution to ensure successful student-facing programming.
  • Support communication efforts with prospective students, applicants, and admitted students through email, phone, virtual platforms, and in-person engagement.
  • Coordinate and facilitate prospective student-to-current student connections, including responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Meet with prospective students as needed to share student experience and support recruitment initiatives.
  • Assist with the development, organization, and updating of recruitment materials, presentations, outreach resources, and digital content.
  • Assist in the technical coordination and troubleshooting of virtual events to support accessibility and overall event effectiveness.
  • Support the processing, organization, and tracking of recruitment requests, inquiries, and outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain and update recruitment records, databases, and tracking systems while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and recruitment-related data summaries to support outreach strategies and enrollment planning.
  • Collaborate with staff to improve workflows, communication processes, and prospective student experience across recruitment initiatives.
  • Maintain organized electronic files, shared resources, and recruitment materials for the Recruitment Office.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Director of Recruitment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

A minimum 1-year commitment is requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Strong professional communication, administrative, and customer service skills
  • Experience supporting events, workshops, or programming activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and AI tools
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with online database management
  • Experience with ordering catering and/or supplies for department

Salary Range

$21.49 hourly / 20 hours per week

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in Austin, TX
  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Use of manual dexterity.
  • Availability Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
