The Village School of Naples is accepting resumes for a Lower School Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher is responsible for executing lesson plans in the classroom and should be prepared to create lesson plans. Enforcing classroom and school rules, observing and evaluating student performance, communicating with parents, collaborating with colleagues, utilizing interactive technology, and grading homework, classwork, and assessments are other vital aspects of the job. The teacher will contribute to the department's ongoing discussions about interdisciplinary STREAM and project-based learning, creating opportunities for student research and experiential learning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Build a trusting, understanding, and caring relationship with the students
· Provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment
· Focus on the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student
· Plan and carry out dynamic and engaging lessons in all curricular areas
· Plan for differentiation of curriculum to meet students’ varying needs and interests
· Plan a learning environment with a variety of learning styles in mind
· Model Christ Skills, emphasizing this conduct model in all areas at all times
· Manage student behavior using effective classroom management strategies
· Identify and recognize problematic behaviors in students
· Understanding of 21st-century classroom practices
· Sustain ongoing communication between parents and school, including conferences when necessary
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each student
· Support the mission and vision of the school’s learning philosophy
· Understanding of interdisciplinary connections
· Supervise an assistant when appropriate
· Attend required faculty meetings, events, and training
· Maintain and follow daily routines and schedules
· Other duties may be assigned by the Head of School or Division Head
· Bachelor's degree required.
· Demonstrate strong support for the stated learning philosophy of The Village School. Workshops and extra study may be required to ensure a thorough understanding of the philosophy.
· Spoken and written language skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must.
· Strong classroom management skills are required.
· Technology skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional.
· Technology skills are required to both teach students in the classroom, as well as to maintain records and communications. Learning Management System is to be maintained with up-to-date information.
· Candidates must be able to articulate their faith and support the school’s Christian environment.
· Physically, the position of the teacher requires sitting, walking, and standing.
