Occupational Therapist (Grade 2) Post Covid Clinic and Inpatient Occupational Therapy

  • 12-month fixed term position
  • Part time to full time (64-80 hours per fortnight)
  • Occupational Therapist Grade 2, Year 1-4 (VF6-VF9)
  • Located at Caulfield on Mondays and varied across Bayside Health sites on other days

The Department

The Bayside Health Post COVID service provides specialist assessment and management for complex patients with persistent symptoms following COVID-19 infection, with discharge to community-based care once the necessary services are in place. The multidisciplinary team includes general medicine physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, allied health assistants and neuropsychologists.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

Post Covid Clinic

  • Goal based assessment and interventions to optimise clients' independence and participation in activities of daily living
  • Fatigue assessment and education
  • Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Multidisciplinary external and internal stakeholder liaison

Inpatient Occupational Therapy

  • Provision of high quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention in various areas of Alfred Health
  • Supervision of Grade 1 staff and students
  • Participation in relevant quality improvement projects

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent.
  • Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership)
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence (unrestricted)
  • Current Working with Children’s Check
  • Minimum three years’ clinical experience in Occupational Therapy
  • Demonstrated best practice in patient assessment and intervention
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and modify service delivery in accordance with evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrated skills in clinical supervision and teaching
