At Greencross Vets GP + Urgent Care Noosa, we know that not every veterinarian wants the same kind of role.
Some vets love the relationships, continuity and variety of General Practice. Others thrive on urgent presentations, clinical problem-solving and making important decisions in the moment. Many enjoy a combination of both.
As our Noosa service continues to grow, we have the flexibility to consider veterinarians interested in:
Whether you are an experienced GP veterinarian curious about developing your emergency skills, an ECC veterinarian looking to step away from overnight work, or someone who enjoys keeping things fresh with a combination of GP and urgent cases, we would love to speak with you.
Greencross Noosa offers a model of care that bridges the gap between traditional General Practice and a 24-hour emergency hospital.
Our GP service provides the full scope and variety of General Practice within extended trading hours. Alongside this, our Urgent Care service supports pets requiring prompt assessment, investigation, treatment or stabilisation when their regular clinic may not be available.
Urgent Care veterinarians have the opportunity to work through interesting and unpredictable presentations, make meaningful clinical decisions and provide timely patient care. Cases can be investigated and treated within the hospital, with patients referred when ongoing intensive care or specialist management is required.
You will be supported by an experienced and capable nursing team within a purpose-built hospital. There are no overnight emergency shifts.
General Practice
This pathway may suit you if you:
You do not need to work across Urgent Care to be considered for the clinic.
Urgent Care
This pathway may suit you if you:
Previous emergency or urgent care experience is highly regarded, but it is not essential. An experienced GP veterinarian with strong clinical foundations and an interest in developing urgent care skills would also be well suited.
A Blend of GP and Urgent Care
If you enjoy both areas, we can explore a role that incorporates GP and Urgent Care shifts.
This option offers the opportunity to maintain your general practice skills and client relationships while also working through more immediate and complex presentations. It is an ideal balance for a veterinarian who enjoys clinical variety and does not want every shift to look the same.
Urgent Care Shift Times
The balance of GP and Urgent Care shifts can be discussed based on the type of position that interests you.
We are looking for a veterinarian who:
You may already have emergency experience, or you may be an experienced GP veterinarian ready to explore something new. Most importantly, we are looking for someone whose preferred style of veterinary work aligns with one or more parts of our GP + Urgent Care model.
Through a combination of internal programs and partnerships with leading providers, you will have access to a broad range of development opportunities, including:
If you have a particular clinical interest or development goal, we are always open to discussing how we can support you to grow in a direction that genuinely excites you.
Why Join Greencross Noosa?
This is an opportunity to join a growing service with more than one career pathway available.
You can continue doing the GP work you enjoy, build confidence in Urgent Care, move away from overnight ECC shifts, or create a varied role incorporating both areas. You will have the chance to practise thoughtful medicine, work alongside an experienced nursing team and contribute to an evolving model of veterinary care on the Sunshine Coast.
You do not need to fit neatly into one category. If the clinic, team and model appeal to you, we would be happy to discuss what the right role could look like.
