Job Description

Are you looking for a role that gives you the best of both worlds: the variety and challenge of urgent care, with the balance and continuity of general practice?

At Greencross Vets GP + Urgent Care Noosa, we’ve created something a little different.

About the Role

This is a GP + Urgent Care position, designed to offer variety, clinical satisfaction, and a more sustainable way of working.

You’ll be part of a team that:

  • Provides general practice care during the day

  • Supports same-day urgent cases after hours (Until 11pm weekdays and 8am – 6pm weekends)

  • Focuses on stabilisation, decision-making, and high-quality patient care without the pressure of overnight critical care

Our urgent care model fills an important gap in the community, helping pets get seen sooner while working closely alongside local emergency hospitals for more critical cases.

You’ll be supported by a team that leans in together, with experienced vets, strong nursing support, and a shared mindset, within purpose-built facilities designed to manage both routine and urgent cases with ease. It’s a culture where you’re encouraged to ask questions, keep learning, contribute ideas, and be part of something that is continuously evolving.

What You’ll Love About Working Here

  • No overnight shifts – protect your energy and enjoy your life outside work

  • Flexible rostering – we’ll work with you to make it sustainable

  • An interesting caseload – without full ECC pressure

  • Strong nursing support – you’re not doing it all alone

  • A team that actually supports each other – collaborative, kind, and approachable

  • Mentoring when you want it, autonomy when you’re ready

  • Room to grow – whether that’s confidence, skills, or a special interest

Most importantly, you’ll be part of building something meaningful for the local community.

About You

  • A veterinary degree holder registerable in Australia, with current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland

  • Available for a permanent part-time or full-time position

  • Confident in general practice, or an early career vet with a strong interest in urgent care

  • Comfortable with, or keen to develop skills in, managing urgent presentations

  • A strong communicator who works well as part of a team

The Benefits:

We’re committed to supporting your growth with learning opportunities that align with your career goals. Through a mix of internal programs and partnerships with leading providers, you’ll have access to a wide range of development options, including:

  • All-inclusive attendance at the Greencross Connect Conference

  • Professional membership support (AVA or Vet Board registration)

  • Access to leading online resources such as VIN, VetFolio, Plumb’s, Vetstream and more

  • Practical workshops and wet labs led by specialists across areas such as surgery, ultrasound and emergency procedures

  • Company-wide critical case reviews and collaborative learning opportunities

  • Support for further qualifications, including memberships, with study groups and exam prep

  • Certifications such as RECOVER (CPR) and Stress Free Pets

  • Ongoing webinars and short courses through VetWebinar and VetEducation

  • Paid Parental Leave, EAP and discounts at PetBarn for your own pets

If you have a specific area of interest, we’re always open to supporting your development and helping you grow in a direction that excites you.
