Job Description

The Government Sales Executive is responsible for developing and managing government sales opportunities across federal, state, and local agencies. This role drives strategic growth within the government sector by leveraging Batteries Plus' GSA contract and other public-sector programs, building strong agency relationships, ensuring contract compliance, and partnering with internal teams and the franchise network to expand revenue and program adoption.

What You'll Do

  • Identify, pursue, and develop government sales opportunities across federal, state, and local agencies.

  • Build and maintain relationships with government decision-makers, procurement officers, and agency stakeholders.

  • Manage assigned government accounts to ensure satisfaction, contract compliance, and long-term growth.

  • Support and administer government contracts, including GSA pricing, reporting, updates, and renewals.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on government procurement processes and compliance requirements.

  • Partner with franchisees and field teams to ensure local execution aligns with government program standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to execute government initiatives.

  • Provide training, guidance, and enablement to internal teams and franchise partners on government programs.

  • Track, analyze, and report on government sales performance, pipeline activity, and growth opportunities.

  • Support sales planning, forecasting, and leadership reporting for the government sales channel.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or program/contract management.

  • Experience with government sales, public-sector procurement, or GSA contracting strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts and support compliant sales programs.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track metrics and deliver data-driven insights.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience such as Salesforce preferred.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Experience supporting franchise or multi-location business models preferred.

  • Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight stays, as business needs require.
