PG&E’s Local Government Affairs team leads the Company’s government relations activities and strategies in the cities and counties we serve, helping to shape complex public policy debates that support our customers and local communities, invest in climate resiliency and the stability of the grid, and assure the long-term success of the company. The successful candidate will be excited about joining a growing, collaborative, and proactive team that is committed to making real change in their community. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong governmental, political and community network within the Central Coast Division (Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties). The candidate will have substantial external contact responsibility and should be experienced in working with local governments, community groups and stakeholders. The candidate will be skilled in building agreements and partnerships with coalitions of diverse interests.
The successful candidate will be a poised public speaker with previous public testimony experience. The candidate must also have excellent written, verbal, and public presentation skills.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a very dynamic, ambiguous, and fast paced environment and the ability to produce results working with or leading a cross-functional team. They must work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and positions.
The candidate will serve as an on-call emergency lead for the region up to 25% of the time, acting as the liaison between the company and city and county leadership within the region during major outages, storms and emergencies.
The role will require regular travel within Northern California and to other locations throughout Northern and Central California as workload dictates. Up to 25% overnight travel required.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Santa Cruz Office. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $105,000
California Maximum: $169,000
