As Government Relations & ESG Engagement Manager – Circularity & Environmental Affairs, you will lead Nestlé’s EU advocacy and stakeholder engagement on circular economy and environmental policy. Based in Brussels, you will drive strategies on packaging, recycling, climate, water, transport and food waste, linking policy developments to business priorities and sustainability goals.

A day in the life of a Government Relations & ESG Engagement Manager – Circularity & Environmental Affairs

  • define and deliver advocacy strategies on circular economy and environmental policy.
  • engage with EU institutions, policymakers, industry groups and civil society.
  • act as a reference point on circularity, environment, climate, water, transport and food waste.
  • align the Government Relations network on key environmental priorities and partnerships.
  • coordinate with legal, sustainability, communications and operations teams.
  • drive ESG engagement and advocacy communications across channels.
  • lead stakeholder engagement initiatives that strengthen visibility and credibility.
  • support and oversee capability building, including EU training and AI in government affairs.

In this role, you report to the Head of Zone Europe Government Relations & ESG Engagement, and join the Zone Europe Government Relations & ESG Engagement team.

What will make you successful

  • 5–7 years’ experience in EU affairs, government relations or public policy.
  • strong understanding of EU institutions, policymaking and advocacy.
  • expertise in circular economy and environmental policy, including packaging and recycling.
  • good knowledge of climate, energy, transport and wider environmental frameworks.
  • ability to lead and influence across complex, cross-functional environments.
  • strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • a master’s degree in a relevant field, fluent English and one additional European language.
