THIS IS NOT A TELEWORK POSITION. CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN A PHYSICAL DCF OFFICE.

Location is open Statewide. The position location will be based on the selected candidate.

Some travel will be required.

This is a full-time Career Service position, working 40 hours per week.

Regular business hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday to Friday.

Salary to be determined, based on experience, $50,000 min to $52,000 max.

If selected for hire, current DCF employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in one or both of the following areas:

• Economic Self-Sufficiency (ESS): Strong knowledge of ESS program policies and operational processes.
• Government Assistance Eligibility:Expertise in determining eligibility for the Medicaid program, including federal administrative policies, procedures, guidelines, and directives related to program eligibility, and a solid working knowledge of other government assistance programs administered by DCF.

Preferred Qualifications:

Writing & Communication Skills:
Preference will be given to candidates with one or more years of experience in:

• Technical and professional writing, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in various formats and modes

Data Analysis & Process Improvement:
Candidates with one or more years of experience in the following areas will be prioritized:

• Data collection, evaluation, and analysis to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, and document workflow
• Enhancing the ESS business model through process improvements and strategic recommendations
• Organizing data logically for reports, documents, and other written materials

Technical Expertise:
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrable knowledge of ESS databases and information technology systems.

Location Requirement:
Priority consideration will be given to candidates who can work on-site at the Centre of Tallahassee – Headquarters office

This is a responsible professional position in the Headquarters’ Policy Unit of the Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS) Program Office.

This position must maintain a thorough knowledge of the Medicaid program and Medicaid Eligibility by reviewing federal administrative policies, procedures, guidelines, and directives related, and a solid working knowledge of other government assistance programs administered by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). This position assists in the evaluation and assessment of proposed changes to eligibility and operations; identifying potential problems, and recommending appropriate actions necessary to prepare administrative rules, state plans, legislation, and policy materials; including Medicaid policy transmittals, clearances, clarifications, and training.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT: It is the policy of the Florida Department of Children and Families that any candidate being considered for employment must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment, and also be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and, if applicable, Chapter 408, F.S.
