Minimum Qualifications:
Six years of direct professional experience or a master's degree.
Demonstrated experience in developing, organizing and conducting professional development activities.
Proficient in modern productivity suites (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and collaborative cloud-based tools, including word processing, spreadsheet management, team communication platforms, document management and video conferencing.
Experience in planning and facilitating both face-to-face and online professional development programs.
Experience building partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships.
Preferences:
Master’s degree in library and information science or a related discipline.
Experience in grant administration, project management or service project implementation.
Minimum of three years of professional library experience.
Library administration or supervisory experience.
Experience working with Friends groups, volunteer organizations, library boards or trustees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Statewide Director Connections and Friends/Foundations Support and Development
Provides statewide leadership for public library administrators, Friends groups and library foundations. Designs and delivers professional development including live training, virtual workshops, webinars, hybrid learning and course series that address statewide needs. Collaborates with internal continuing education teams and external partners to create innovative learning solutions such as interactive modules, multimedia resources and asynchronous coursework. Monitors emerging trends, competencies and best practices to ensure program relevance and effectiveness. Ensures all educational content meets ADA standards and compliance requirements. Assists with grant monitoring and reporting for program initiatives. Prepares reports, presentations and guidance documents that support statewide program goals. Maintains program webpages, listservs and communication channels to ensure timely distribution of information.
Director Connections Consulting and Technical Assistance
Provides consulting and technical assistance to public library administrators on governance, long‑term planning, management and service delivery. Conducts outreach and orientation for new public library directors on behalf of the Division. Stays informed about library trends and current issues, designs projects or programs that benefit library administrators and facilitates continuing education opportunities as priorities evolve. Coordinates annual Division Orientation and assists with the annual Directors Meeting.
Friends/Foundations Consulting and Technical Assistance
Provides consulting and technical assistance to Friends groups, foundation members, library board members and citizen supporters. Conducts outreach and orientation for new Friends and foundation members as requested by public library administrators. Designs and implements programs and supporting materials that strengthen library administrators’ work with governing officials, library boards, trustees and Friends groups.
Bureau and Division Collaboration
Works collaboratively within the Bureau of Library Development to plan and implement Bureau and Division activities including continuing education, outreach, publications, surveys, grant administration and other priorities aligned with the Division’s five‑year plan for library development in Florida.
Other Duties
Performs other related duties as required. Ensures that usage of the State Purchasing Card (P-Card) conforms to all state and departmental rules and procedures.
