and Responsibilities:
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks, is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong organizational skills, as well as land planning and administration skills, to join our dynamic team in the land administration section of the Office of Park Planning.
Coordinate the development, preparation and execution of State contracts, leases, subleases, releases, agreements, amendments, easements, MOUs, permits, licenses and other documents that relate to properties under the jurisdiction and management of the Division of Recreation and Parks (DRP). Develop records and promulgate reports relating to encumbrances and individual parcels for land under the jurisdiction of the DRP.
Assist with evaluation of merits of potential land acquisitions by reviewing maps, aerial imagery, data concerning presence and condition of natural and cultural resources, reviewing reports, and corresponding with land trusts and fellow members of the DRP.
Consult and act as liaison for the DRP with other department planning personnel, other government agencies and private entities. Represent the DRP in the negotiation of terms for agreements and other legal documents. Represent the DRP at meetings, workshops, or conferences as might be occasionally required.
Investigate and analyze land administration issues for the DRP, other governmental (federal, state, local) agencies and private entities and provide recommendations for the disposition of such issues. Apply plans, policies, and objectives of the DRP for achieving agency goals in administering lands under the jurisdiction of the DRP as part of the Florida State Park System.
Process and maintain land administration records associated with all management units within the state park system. Maintain reports to accurately reflect all land use instruments/encumbrances currently in effect, status of pending land use transactions, and current acreage managed by the DRP. Research and respond to requests involving park land use and management rights. Research land records and databases and provide acquisition and encumbrance histories for unit management plans.
Review and coordinate non-ad-valorem assessments on lands managed as part of the Florida State Park System. Prepare land management project files for digitization into an archival record storage platform for retrieval as needed.
