Government Lending Specialist

The Government Lending Specialist supports municipal lending by ensuring accurate documentation, compliant processes, timely reporting, and exceptional service. This role keeps lending operations running smoothly while building strong relationships with public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities Aligned to Core Values

Documentation Management: Professionalism & Accountability

  • Prepare, review, and process municipal loan documents with precision and accuracy.
  • Ensure all files meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
  • Maintain secure, audit ready documentation at all times.

Deposit Assistance: Adaptability & Service

  • Provide backup support to the Public Funds Coordinator, including daily reporting and ICS account setup.
  • Assist markets in creating competitive, compliant deposit bids.

Payment Application: Accountability & Service

  • Verify and post borrower payments promptly and accurately.
  • Reconcile discrepancies and communicate solutions clearly to borrowers.

Reporting & Record Keeping: Professionalism & Initiative

  • Produce routine and special request reports for internal teams and regulators.
  • Maintain complete, accurate records of loan activity and portfolio performance.
  • Keep FirstSupport municipal content updated and reliable.

Relationship Management: Service, Courage & Resilience

  • Deliver responsive, customer focused support to municipal borrowers.
  • Partner with marketing to enhance visibility of municipal lending programs.
  • Oversee the government lending portfolio, including financial updates, covenant monitoring, and Jack Henry client setup reviews.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
  • Experience in loan processing.
  • Proficiency with loan management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong customer relationships.
