Under the direction of the Business Manager II, this position is required to exercise independent judgment in assisting with the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in the preparation and administration of the Division’s operation. This position will primarily serve as the Division’s financial /budget coordinator.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Conducting research and analysis to prepare plans for overall operating budget recommendations, and reports relating to objectives established by the CJIS Director;
  • Preparing accurate and complete reports and documentation describing management consultant and planning activities, recommendations and procedural instructions, such as those related to financial/budget issues to include: contract management, Legislative Budget Review (LBR) requests and procurement;
  • Completing independent and directed special projects; develops implementation strategies for new programs and initiatives; and coordinates the development of special projects as assigned. Also, conducts special studies and inquiries to analyze problems and issues stemming from management practices and recommends corrective action; and
  • Participating in conferences, workshops, committees and similar activities relevant to assigned projects. Consults and/or presents information to criminal justice personnel and others regarding criminal justice information issues and development programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently; and
  • Ability to use problem solving techniques.

BASE SALARY:

  • $ 53,917.24

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
