The incumbent in this position will coordinate, design and provide training for Florida Department of Law Enforcement members in the Orlando Regional Operations Center (OROC). Emphasis will be on training devoted to the Department’s investigative and forensic mission, team building, resolving group and organizational conflict, and designing plans for organization change and implementation of change strategies. Training will also be designed to help individuals assess personal competencies, values, and goals and to plan/implement career strategies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Participating in the evaluation of on-going training needs assessments and developing suggested programs for overall training enhancements;
  • Developing a written outline of regional training goals for each fiscal year;
  • Conducting independent and directed research into the development of methods and techniques for specific training, in support of employees in sworn and non-sworn job classifications, to provide for career and human resource development;
  • Conducting periodic reviews of course curricula to ensure content is current and relevant to contemporary training needs;
  • Preparing after action summary reports and making recommendations regarding curriculum changes;
  • Establishing cost effective training and implementing tracking measures and accounting procedures to maintain accountability of all money received and expended for delivery of instruction and other relevant services;
  • Maintaining training records on all OROC members and coordinating record maintenance activities; and
  • Assisting with establishing and maintaining quality control measures for all OROC members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of information systems including usage as well as policies and procedures;
  • Ability to effectively utilize common computer software such as Microsoft Office products;
  • Ability to conduct thorough analytical assessments on assigned topics;
  • Ability to use problem solving techniques;
  • Ability to prioritize workload;
  • Ability to direct administrative personnel;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to promote and maintain liaison with other local, state and federal agencies; and
  • Ability to establish lines of communication between various sources of intelligence in the furtherance of its collection, collation and dissemination.

BASE SALARY:

  • $44,260.06

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
