Job Description

CharteredPartners is seeking an experienced governance, risk and compliance professional to join our client in Hong Kong at Director level. The successful candidate will lead integrated GRC advisory delivery, shape the firm's enterprise risk and governance propositions, and contribute to origination across listed corporates and regulated institutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of enterprise risk management, governance and compliance advisory engagements across listed and regulated clients.
  • Help boards and risk committees mature their risk appetite, governance frameworks and three lines model in line with the HKEX Corporate Governance Code.
  • Advise regulated institutions on HKMA expectations, including the Supervisory Policy Manual and OR-2 operational resilience requirements.
  • Design integrated GRC operating models that connect risk, compliance, internal audit and the board reporting cycle.
  • Support origination and proposals, building relationships with chief risk officers, company secretaries and heads of compliance.
  • Oversee engagement quality, methodology and deliverables, ensuring alignment to COSO ERM and the Global Internal Audit Standards 2024.
  • Develop managers and senior consultants, and contribute to the firm's technical thought leadership.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A recognised professional credential such as CIA, CRISC, CISA, ACCA, HKICPA or a comparable risk or governance qualification.
  • At least ten to twelve years of governance, risk or compliance experience, including senior delivery within a professional services firm or a regulated institution.
  • Strong command of COSO ERM, the three lines model and the Global Internal Audit Standards 2024.
  • Practical knowledge of HKMA supervisory expectations, including the Supervisory Policy Manual and OR-2 operational resilience.
  • Familiarity with the SFC regulatory environment and licensed-corporation obligations.
  • Sound understanding of the HKEX Corporate Governance Code and Listing Rules disclosure requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the PDPO and its implications for data governance and compliance.
  • A record of leading multidisciplinary teams and managing concurrent engagements to budget and quality.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage.

Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to banking, insurance and asset management alongside listed corporates.
  • Experience embedding ESG governance and climate-related disclosure into risk frameworks.
  • A track record of practice origination or material contribution to business development.
  • Active standing within IIA Hong Kong, ISACA or the professional risk community.
  • Familiarity with regulatory change programmes and remediation under supervisory scrutiny.
  • Experience integrating GRC technology platforms into client operating models.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
