What’s the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Governance and Project Development Advisor to lead and manage business support, governance, and project development initiatives for our Renewable Generation Joint Venture in the Philippines.

Note: This is a 12-month project-based role supporting the Philippines Power business and its joint venture, Greenlight.

What you’ll be doing

Governance & Compliance (Non-Operated Ventures)

  • Lead governance initiatives for non-operated joint ventures, ensuring alignment with corporate compliance standards and business conduct requirements.
  • Deliver coaching and training to venture partners to strengthen governance awareness and adherence.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust due diligence frameworks for non-operated ventures.

Corporate Administration

  • Maintain oversight of corporate administration activities, ensuring accurate preparation and execution of Board and shareholder resolutions, meeting minutes, and related documentation.
  • Identify and implement improvements to governance and administrative processes to enhance operational efficiency and stakeholder communication.

Business Operations & Systems Management

  • Manage the business opportunity pipeline in Salesforce to ensure effective tracking, reporting, and visibility.
  • Support Annual Business Planning and quarterly forecasting (Latest Estimate) by providing relevant project feasibility (FEED) and CAPEX inputs.
  • Oversee SharePoint records management, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and audit compliance.
  • Lead oversight of audits, risk registers, and annual compliance assessments for non-operated ventures.

Project Origination & Screening

  • Support the identification and origination of new project opportunities (e.g., land acquisition or ready-to-develop assets).
  • Conduct preliminary project assessments to enable effective screening and prioritization from origination through pre-feasibility stages.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive database of project opportunities, tracking progress through development stage gates up to Notice to Proceed.

Project Development

For assigned projects:

  • Support land and counterparty due diligence in coordination with relevant functions.
  • Ensure timely completion of technical, interconnection, Right-of-Way, and other viability assessments to de-risk projects and advance decision milestones.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Permitting, and Stakeholder Relations/LGU teams to proactively identify and address stakeholder concerns, permitting risks, ESG considerations, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the organization in community, local government, or agency engagements as needed to support project development and acceptance.
  • Partner with project modelling and economics teams to ensure up-to-date financial assumptions and optimization of project value.
  • Maintain and regularly update project risk registers.
  • Monitor project development budgets and expenditures.
  • Track and report project progress, including permits, budget utilization, risk exposure, and economic outlook.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and data rooms.
  • Support the Project Development Lead or Business Opportunity Manager in preparing materials for investment approvals and Board endorsements.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Commercial, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in the development of large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in Renewable Energy and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Strong expertise in land due diligence, de-risking, and acquisition activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of local regulations and industry-relevant compliance and permitting requirements.
  • Solid understanding of grid connection requirements, as well as solar and BESS technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management, joint venture governance, and cross-functional collaboration, with excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Filipino is preferred, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
