KNOW THE ROLE

Our Goods Inward Department in our Brown Thomas Limerick Store is currently looking for an operative to join their team on a 30 hour contract, on a Permanent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new stock and supplier returns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Accurately check deliveries against purchase orders and report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Ensure all stock is correctly labelled, sorted, and stored in designated areas.
  • Assist in preparing stock for internal transfers and replenishment.
  • Support with regular cycle counts and stocktake procedures.
  • Maintain the department layout with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Follow all procedures and processes relevant to the role.
  • Assist in resolving any queries or issues raised by the buying or merchandising teams.
  • Operate handheld scanners and input data into stock management systems.

Systems

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures (as outlined in the Company Handbook).
  • Follow correct procedures for Goods In operation, including documentation for all goods received, special orders, returns, and NCV stock.
  • Use computer systems to manage delivery and return details accurately and in real time.
  • Understand and apply store Audit guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of merchandise returned to suppliers and respond to related queries.
  • Support system updates and reporting on stock movement as required.

Security

  • Comply with all DC (Distribution Centre) security procedures.
  • Follow correct procedures to address any discrepancies in deliveries or returns.
  • Protect company assets, fixtures, and fittings, and remain security conscious at all times.
  • Report any suspicious activity or breaches in protocol to the appropriate manager.

General

  • Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support teamwork across departments.
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders and supervisors on workload and priorities.
  • Display flexibility and a willingness to support in other stockroom or operational areas when required.

Health & Safety

  • Understand the “Safety Statement” and adhere to its guidelines at all times.
  • Report any safety hazards or unsafe behavior immediately.
  • Operate all equipment in accordance with formal training and safety standards.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
  • Wear Hi-Viz jackets and safety boots at all times.
  • Follow proper manual handling techniques and guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
