Job Description

Be part of our growth. Share your passion for golf. Make a local difference.

Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group | Worrigee Links Golf, NSW

Our business is growing, our team is expanding, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Golf Pro Shop Assistant to join our Worrigee Links team.

This is your opportunity to build a rewarding career in a welcoming, community-focused organisation where great service has a purpose, people are valued and every day brings something different.

Whether you have experience in golf, hospitality, retail or customer service, if you enjoy working with people, being part of a team and creating great experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

“We care for the Shoalhaven, every person, every time, in everything we do.”

This is our mission, and the heart of our brand.

At Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group, our connection to the community extends well beyond our venues. We bring people together, support local organisations and contribute to initiatives that make a meaningful difference across the Shoalhaven.

We’re proud to support:

  • SASSI and domestic violence support initiatives, helping local services support people facing difficult circumstances.
  • Invictus and RSL initiatives, honouring our service community and maintaining a strong connection to our ex-service heritage.
  • Local sporting clubs and community organisations, through donations and support that encourage participation, connection and belonging.

Across ExServos Nowra, Worrigee Sports and Worrigee Links Golf, we create places where people feel welcome, whether they’re catching up over a meal, celebrating milestones, enjoying a round of golf or spending time with friends.

Our business success helps us continue giving back. Every welcoming interaction, positive guest experience and well-run operation contributes to a stronger organisation and our capacity to support the community.

When you join us, you become an ambassador for that purpose. You’ll be part of a team that takes pride in who we are, what we stand for and the difference we can make together.

What’s in it for you?

You put a lot into looking after our members and guests. You deserve a workplace that values your contribution, supports your development and makes coming to work enjoyable.

At Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group, we offer:

  • A fantastic working environment, surrounded by the beautiful greens and fairways of Worrigee Links Golf Course.
  • A supportive and welcoming team, where people work together, share knowledge and celebrate success.
  • Training and development opportunities, including learning golf operations, competition management and industry systems.
  • Variety in your working day, with opportunities to develop skills across golf operations, customer service, retail and events.
  • Staff benefits and recognition, with access to our employee rewards and recognition program, including Employee of the Year Royal Caribbean cruise prizes.
  • Opportunities to grow with us, developing your skills and contributing ideas within a successful, expanding business.
  • A community-focused workplace, where your contribution supports something bigger than the day-to-day operation.

Our values of Respect, Openness, Empowerment and Collaboration shape how we work together and support one another. We welcome ideas, encourage initiative and celebrate the people who make our venues special.

Your role: Golf Pro Shop Assistant

Worrigee Links Golf is looking for a friendly, motivated and reliable team member who enjoys delivering exceptional customer experiences and has an interest in golf.

As a Golf Pro Shop Assistant, you’ll play an important role in keeping our golf operation running smoothly, from welcoming members and visitors to managing bookings, supporting competitions, preparing golf carts and maintaining our Golf Shop.

You’ll work alongside our Golf Operations team and support the Golf Experience Manager to ensure every golfer enjoys a professional, welcoming and memorable experience.

This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys staying active, working with people and taking pride in the little details that make a big difference.

What you’ll do

  • Create great first impressions, welcoming members, guests and visitors with friendly, professional and helpful service.
  • Keep the golf experience running smoothly, managing tee-time bookings, player registrations, enquiries and daily golf activities.
  • Support competitions and events, assisting with competition administration, corporate golf days, championships and visiting groups.
  • Become confident with golf technology, using MiClub, MiScore, point-of-sale and other golf management systems.
  • Deliver a great Golf Shop experience, assisting customers with merchandise, equipment hire, retail sales and golf-related enquiries.
  • Keep our facilities looking their best, maintaining Golf Shop presentation, merchandising, stock levels and customer-facing areas.
  • Prepare golfers for a great round, managing golf cart allocation, cleaning, charging, returns and hire equipment.
  • Help maintain a safe and reliable operation, identifying equipment faults, reporting maintenance issues and following established safety procedures.
  • Keep everyone informed, sharing accurate information about course conditions, competitions, local rules and operational updates.
  • Be a great team player, supporting daily opening, closing and handover procedures while helping wherever needed across the golf operation.

What you will bring

  • A warm, professional manner and a genuine passion for delivering great customer service.
  • An interest in golf and an understanding of the game, or enthusiasm to learn.
  • Previous experience in golf, hospitality, retail or customer service is desirable.
  • A current RSA competency card, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with members, guests and colleagues.
  • Good attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn systems such as MiClub, MiScore and POS.
  • A practical, hands-on attitude with the initiative to identify what needs doing and get it done.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
  • Reliability, flexibility and pride in maintaining a safe, clean and professional workplace.
  • Availability to work across a seven-day operation, including weekends and public holidays.

You don’t need to know everything about golf operations from day one. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to making every customer experience a great one.

Ready to join our team?

Turn your passion for people and golf into a rewarding opportunity.

Build your career with a team that celebrates its people and a business that gives back to the community.

Submit your résumé and a cover letter telling us about your customer service experience, your interest in golf and why you’d like to join Worrigee Links Golf and Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
