The Golf Desk Attendant provides outstanding service to customers, members, guests, and staff at Sunset Valley Golf Club and the Highland Park Golf Learning Center. Responsibilities include daily operations such as phone inquiries, tee time scheduling, event support, and financial transactions. This role ensures all tasks align with the Park District’s standards while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.

Essential Job Duties

Include, but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service as the first point of contact, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
  • Communication: Be familiar with and use standard greeting scripts, procedures, and responses to common inquiries. Effectively answer questions regarding club and course details, programs, services, and rules.
  • Golf Course Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about Sunset Valley Golf Club’s course details (i.e., length, slope/rating), rules, and regulations. Be able to answer questions and enforce policies as needed.
  • Cash Handling & Financial Records: Process financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and prepare daily reports and bank deposits.
  • Golf Shop Operations: Assist in maintaining inventory and restocking items in the Golf Shop. Keep the shop organized and clean.
  • Facility Support: Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the facility. Assist in routine office functions and ensure a secure environment.
  • Scheduling & Tee Times: Coordinate with staff to ensure patrons begin their rounds on time.
  • Event & League Assistance: Assist with the preparation and execution of leagues, special events, parties, and rentals. Provide administrative support for event registrations.
  • Park District Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with other PDHP programs and services.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and providing support to Food and Beverage services as needed.



Qualifications

Education and/or

Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in a golf course, club, hospitality, or customer service role is preferred but not required. Preferred knowledge and understanding of the game of golf. Willingness and ability to exhibit a professional and polite appearance at all times. Strong organizational skills. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.

Wage Range: $15.50-$21.00 per hour

Classification: Seasonal, non-exempt

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Adequate hearing is required for this position.

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
