Job Description

Join Yamaha's Golf Car team as a Golf Car Field Service Specialist in a field-based role supporting a territory in Southwest Florida! The Field Service Technician maintains golf cars and golf course relationships. They will perform warranty and billable work as needed, as well as manage billing and reporting, maintain service truck inventory, and plan business routes. They will monitor Golf Fleets, maintain car condition, and report any problems as they arise, using the correct communication tools. The service territory for this role is Southwest Florida.

What you'll be doing:

  • Promptly and professionally respond to service calls at golf courses utilizing an automated scheduling system, providing hands on service and customer support following proper Golf Course rules and etiquette.
  • Complete all service documentation to include work orders, golf car audit report, battery discharge reports, and parts orders. Effectively report (verbal and written) progress and recommendations to management, sales and customer.
  • Effectively manage Service Truck and Storage location, tracking inventory and sales with provided tools and channels. Efficiently and accurately order, receive ship and audit service truck parts inventory.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and follow all company policies pertaining to their use and maintenance of the vehicles. Maintain work area, service truck and storage facility in a safe, clean and orderly condition at all times.
  • Provide training and assistance to golf course customers and Yamaha sales and service personnel staff in system usage, and technical service techniques required to manage fleet service.
  • Assist Golf Car dealers as needed in the market with service problems and general knowledge. Working with Customers as required.
  • Assist new and used car sales departments as assigned.
  • Attend and support company activities & assist other service territories as required.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude & 5+ years of engine and vehicle repair experience required.
  • Formal technical training in the repair of power sports product a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Computer system usage.
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to travel 100% visiting accounts to perform duties, working extended hours as required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with understanding & support of safety
  • Excellent customer service, and issue resolution skills
  • Strong written and oral skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in various types of weather when required.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 Lbs.
  • Must not have any physical limitation that would hinder repeated bending, lifting, kneeling, pulling or other movements commonly associated with working on Golf Cars.
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision, maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
