Division: The Group Business Solutions (GBS) division ensures the competitiveness of Euroclear by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets. Our technical teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients. We deploy changes into the production environment in a controlled and structured way that doesn't compromise production stability and we ensure applicative production support.

Within GBS, you will join the Solution Engineering team where you can play a key role in modernisation of the engineering practices for the IT divisions.

About the Role

We are looking for a Golden Path Lead / Squad Lead to drive the next evolution of Euroclear’s engineering ecosystem.
The Golden Path ensures our engineering teams can build secure, modern, compliant software by providing ready-to-use templates, reusable components, defined practices for the covered technologies, reference architectures and guardrails.

In this role, you will lead the entire Golden Path portfolio across technologies and serve as the IT Practice Owner for Design & Build, shaping how software is built across Euroclear.

You will be reporting to the Solution Engineer Tribe lead

Key responsibilities

Strategic leadership - Lead a Multi-Golden Path Portfolio

• Define and drive the overarching vision, strategy and roadmap for all Golden Paths (Java, Angular, .NET, COBOL, PLI, Python).
• Ensure consistency, quality and Security by Design across technologies through close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture and the Architecture & Engineering governance forums.
• Govern the lifecycle, standards, templates and reusable engineering patterns to ensure coherent, scalable and future‑proof engineering practices across the organisation

People Leadership & Squad Management

• Act as the people manager for all employees working on Angular, Java and .Net Golden Paths, across locations.
• Lead performance evaluation, development planning and recruitment needs, consistent with Squad Lead role expectations
• Provide indirect leadership and cross tribe coordination for PL1, COBOL and Python Golden Paths.
• Build a strong engineering culture focused on collaboration, learning, inner sourcing, modern practices and continuous improvement.
• Ensure aligned backlogs, shared priorities and cross technology coherence.

IT Practice Owner – Design & Build

• Responsible for overseeing people, processes and technology dimensions related to design and build practices
• Own and continuously improve Euroclear’s Design & Build processes, embedding governance, security, practices and SDLC controls.
• Manage the Design and Build community of practice, you will be responsible for
  • Integrate Golden Path patterns into automated guardrails and shift left compliance.
  • Ensure clear standards and adoption across all engineering communities.

Delivery Excellence & Adoption

• Oversee the release of Golden Path features and improvements.
• Track adoption, reduce delivery friction and enhance developer experience.
• Manage risks, dependencies and stakeholder communication across Tribes.

Tribe leadership

• As a member of the Tribe Leadership, you will actively contribute to collective Tribe objectives, and you will take ownership of transversal Tribe Leadership roles

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in engineering leadership, DevOps and modern software practices.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams across locations
• Proven people leadership capability, including coaching, feedback, high performing team management and engagement in an agile environment.
• Ability to foster psychological safety, accountability, and collaboration within the squad.
• Strong change mindset with the ability to promote and embed new ways of working.
• Solid understanding of agile delivery models and IT Target Operating Model principles and proven experience collaborating with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Deep understanding of SDLC, controls, secure development and CI/CD automation.
• Ability to influence at scale, drive standardisation and lead change.
• Experience with both modern (Java, Angular, .NET) and legacy/specialised technologies (COBOL, PLI) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
