In Prague, we work across a wide range of engineering domains: frontend development (mobile, TV, and web), backend (Java), platform engineering, content delivery networks, video playback (Golang), and data engineering (Python). What is the plot?
Our streaming platform is at the forefront of technology, leveraging modern video codecs, adaptive bitrate streaming, low-latency streaming, and support for live streaming. We deliver innovative features to users while ensuring we maintain world-class playback KPIs and streaming standards, regardless of the device or operating system.
The Playback Experience team is looking for an exceptional developer to improve and evolve our observability and KPI automation systems. Join us as we embark on challenging solutions and iterate on the future of streaming video technology.
What role will you play?
Your primary focus will be the development of the observability and KPI automation that powers well-renowned brands such as Peacock, NOW, Sky Showtime, and more. Be a key part of building a premium streaming service solving the challenge of supporting a huge range of video streaming-capable devices.
What skills do you need to play your role well?
3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including strong hands-on Golang experience.
Experience building backend services,APIsor data-processing systems in production environments.
Experience working with databases at scale;ClickHouseexperience is a strong plus but not mandatory.
Experience with cloud services and modern deployment environments; AWS, Kubernetes,Dockeror similar technologies are valuable.
Understanding of resilient messaging or event-streaming concepts; Kafka or similar technology experience is a plus.
Good testing habits and ability to write maintainable,observableand production-ready code.
Interest in telemetry, observability, KPI automation, A/Btestingor release-safety tooling.
Nice to have
Experience withOpenTelemetryor other telemetry/observability solutions.
Experience with high-volume event processing, logs, metrics,tracesor analytical data pipelines.
Experience with video streaming, playback quality,QoEQoS metrics, HLS,DASHor similar media technologies.
Experience contributing to internal dashboards or frontend applications; React or other frontend experience is welcome
Interest in experimentation platforms, anomaly detection, automatedrollbackor AI-assisted analytics.
