Brief Overview of Position
A Corporate Banking Analyst II is an early-career position within the Corporate & Investment Banking GNI Industry Coverage group. This role will report to the Staffing Manager and will support colleagues in delivering best-in-class experiences and comprehensive financial solutions to clients and prospects.

We are seeking qualified candidates with a passion for a long-term career in banking and the following core competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the initial review of financial statements and complete financial spreads for new and existing credit opportunities.
  • Assist Associates prepare diligence lists and questions prior to meetings.
  • Prepare credit approval memos for new and existing clients on all aspects of underwriting – this could include, but is not limited to, financial modeling, company and industry analysis, etc.
  • Research new prospect opportunities as directed by Senior Coverage Bankers.
  • Monitor transactions in the pipeline from prospecting phase through closing.
  • Create pitch books and executive summaries prior to client and prospect calls.
  • Participate in client and prospect calls with Senior Bankers including taking notes and maintaining Salesforce records.
  • Support Portfolio Managers with quarterly portfolio reviews, the closing process and various credit projects.
  • Coach and mentor Banking Analyst I colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, etc.) or other relevant degree.
  • 1.5 to 2.5 years of experience in Banking, Commercial Banking preferred or other relevant experience.
  • Extraordinary levels of motivation and initiative.
  • Effective team player with ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills - critical thinking, data and information analysis, research, and problem solving.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge and application of Credit Underwriting (i.e., cash flow models, financial spreads, and credit packages).
  • Knowledge of banking suite of products and services.
  • Ability to input and produce reports, correspondence and presentations using Salesforce and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint etc
  • Ability to manage competing priorities on concurrent projects.
