We are seeking an emerging Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. The GNC Aerodynamics Engineer tasks include:
• Design, integrate, and test of aerodynamic model for missile and fire control products
• Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations
• Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
• Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
• Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
• Candidate must have demonstrated the ability
to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:
o Develop and/or verify/validate aerodynamic models or experimental aerodynamics data, wind tunnel data analysis
o Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle
models and simulations such as missile 6-
degree-of-freedom simulations
o Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Matlab, Python
o Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of
linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations
o Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

• Ability to perform preflight system performance
assessment and post flight verification analyses • Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems

such as extended Kalman filters (EKF)
• Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE)
• Experience with Model-based systems
engineering (MBSE)
• Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $68,000 - $119,830. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $78,200 - $135,470. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
