
The Office of Student Engagement oversees community building programs, and seeks a student worker to support programming for commuter students. This position reports to the Associate Director for Recreation & Commuter Engagement. The New School was founded by forward-thinking educators in 1919 to defy the intellectual constraints of a traditional college education.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Recreation & Commuter Engagement, the Gnarls Communication Coordinator will provide a key role in documenting, promoting, and creating content on social media platforms for events hosted by Recreation and Student Affairs as well as events throughout the University that Gnarls attends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a student officer on the Gnarls Squad Team, attending various on and off campus events hosted through Recreation and Student Affairs
Create content for events Gnarls attends on NarwhalNation and Instagram.
Serve as Gnarls photographer for Gnarls attending events.
Reply to student inquiries related to Gnarls appearances/booking.
Staff events, meetings, and office hours in person.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled New School student who qualifies for Federal Work Study
Demonstrated commitment to community building and teamwork
Reliable, organized, and communicative
Able to manage a hybrid schedule and confirm weekly changes for event staffing
Must be able to work at least one weekend or evening event per month
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience with Photography is preferred.
Prior experience with Social Media is preferred.
Prior experience working in an office or community building environment is preferred.
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. #LI-DNI
SALARY RANGE
$18 - $20 / hour
