GMx - Senior - Commercial

EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) is a global network delivering scalable, technology-enabled solutions to EY member firms and clients worldwide. Within GDS, Managed Services (MS) is a strategic growth area, focused on delivering end-to-end, long-term solutions across global engagements.

The GMX Controlling teams plays a key role in driving commercial excellence, enabling robust financial management, contract compliance, and value delivery across complex, multi-country deals.

The Opportunity

As a Senior, you will align to a high-profile engagement, supporting the management of the contract across commercial, financial, and engagement dimensions. You will work closely with the Commercial Controller to deliver financial outcomes and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

You will bring strong commercial acumen, along with experience in finance and engagement management, contributing to the effective delivery of complex deals.

Your Key Responsibilities

Contract & Commercial Management

• Develop a strong understanding of client deal financials and commercial constructs.
• Support engagement leadership to ensure contracts are executed in line with agreed terms and intent.

Financial Management & Reporting

• Own and enhance processes for scope and fee management, billing, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking.
• Establish accurate and consistent revenue and margin reporting across workstreams and geographies.

Performance Monitoring & Profitability

• Review and challenge financial performance to identify risks and opportunities.
• Recommend and implement actions to improve engagement profitability and financial outcomes.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

• Understand country-level fee allocation methodologies for in-scope and out-of-scope work.
• Collaborate with global and local stakeholders to drive alignment and improve communication.

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to analyse and visualise financial data effectively
• Self-starter with strong business acumen, able to understand and prioritise key commercial challenges
• Ability to identify process gaps and drive improvements to ensure accuracy and efficiency in commercial processes
• Proven capability to build and maintain relationships within a global, multi-country, matrixed environment
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to generate actionable insights to address business challenges

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A Graduate/MBA degree or equivalent.
• 8-10 years of experience.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a global, matrixed environment
• Solid understanding of financial and commercial drivers, including their interdependencies across engagement activities
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to evolving business needs and priorities
• A recognised accounting or management qualification.
