PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
This internship is designed to build upon a candidate’s demonstrated entrepreneurial drive by providing access to energy products and equipment, customer accounts, delivery and logistical management, marketing concepts, sales and territory maintenance, and other critical functions required to sustain and grow a profitable sales territory.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under direct supervison of the Location Manager and/or Energy Sales Manager:
Assist with the sales and delivery of energy products to key customer accounts.
Assist with the facilitating of company goals and objectives to “GROW” the business.
Provides assistance with and implement sales strategies that generate profitable sales to existing and prospective customers within a specific region.
Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, industry representatives, and employees.
Participate and facilitate the development of a strategic project that adds value to the deparment
Conduct marketing research and analysis in conjunction with your project
Customize and produce advertising and sales support materials, including direct mailers, literature, presentations, program introductions, and other materials.
Understands the various roles and structure of Energy Division and works collaboratively with all areas to identify opportunities for improved customer service.
Projects a positive, professional image in all workings with customers, industry representatives, and employees.
Maintains company vehicle, performs basic maintenance as needed.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be pursuing a Marketing, Communications, or Agriculture Degree at a 4 year university, with a status of at least a second semester junior or first semester senior in good academic standing at the time the internship begins.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
Where required by law, must possess or obtain a selling or solicitor’s license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement.
Must maintain or have the ability to acquire and maintain an EMS (Energy Management Specialist) certification.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”
Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions. Working conditions may occasionally include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
