Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Manager I Pulmonary
Key Responsibilities: 1. Works as a member of the training program leadership team to manage and provide Creates, updates, maintains and distributes educational materials and curriculum.
2. Manages the application and interview process for candidate recruitment selection. schedules
and manages the program’s interview process and manages post interview processes. Acts as a
resource for candidates, assisting as needed with travel arrangements and/or interview
schedules.
3. Manages all aspects of onboarding. Ensures the timely input of documents related to licensing,
visas, credentialing and moonlighting in accordance with regulatory requirements. Ensures followup
on missing documents to complete records. Takes follow-up action as needed.
4. Manages and participates in content development for annual orientation programs including
identifying and inviting speakers. May schedule speakers and manage conference rooms/virtual
venues, trainings and other new hire requirements including hospital IDs, and computer access.
5. Provides leadership to other GME administrators/coordinators at the institution. Participates in
and/or presents regularly at GME sponsored meetings/educational sessions. Designs and
delivers content for monthly coordinator meetings on topics such as professional development
opportunities, TAGME (Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education) preparation,
annual update, interviewing, data management GME coordinator initiatives, and other coordinator
development opportunities.
6. Develops and maintains required records and data for residents, fellows, faculty and alumni with a
focus on continuous systems improvement and accuracy. Ensures optimal program utilization of
GME databases including duty hours, evaluations and personnel records in accordance with
department/GME requirements. Identifies and proposes improvements and changes to databases
based on anticipated program needs.
7. Interprets, applies, monitors and develops recommendations to program leadership to ensure
compliance with ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education), other national
accrediting agency/regulatory requirements, and hospital policies to ensure compliance. Attends
national conferences, web-conferences and other educational sessions to keep abreast of
changing policies and be the primary point person in the program for all regulatory requirements.
8. Oversees development, planning, content design and execution of educational conferences,
didactic sessions, M&M (Morbidity & Mortality) conferences and special events throughout the
year. Maintains documentation of evaluation and attendance tracking for events. Uses program
feedback to generate improvement plans to educational curriculum in accordance with
(department/program, GME/and regulatory objectives.
9. Acts as a resource to house staff and as a liaison for the house staff/training program. Informs
house staff of policies, procedures and schedules. Diffuses conflicts by accommodating
reasonable requests and managing issues as appropriate; escalates issues to manager as
needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Masters preferred.
Experience: 4 years’ hospital/educational administrative
experience including a minimum of one year of GME program coordination/program management. Supervisory/management experience preferred.
