ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The GME Program Manager 1 provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Department of Medicine’s Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited fellowship programs in Pulmonary/Critical Care. This position plays a key role in maintaining continuous compliance with all standards set forth by ACGME, the University of Tennessee Graduate Medical Education (UTGME) office, and related governing bodies. This position serves as a backup to the Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology GME Program Manager 1.
- Leads and oversees the daily operational management of all accredited fellowships under the Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship Program, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality program support.
- Maintains expert-level knowledge of ACGME requirements and accreditation processes; oversees accreditation site visits and ensures readiness.
- Oversees rotation schedules, call schedules, clinic assignments, and conference coordination.
- Maintains fellow records, assists with scholarly activity tracking, and supports research initiatives.
- Screens ERAS applications using independent judgment to identify eligible candidates.
- Administers and maintains all evaluation systems in the residency management software.
- Processes verification requests, summative evaluations, and board eligibility documentation.
- Provides delegated support to the Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology GME Program Manager 1 and contributes to the fellowship’s administrative infrastructure as needed, ensuring alignment with programmatic, institutional, and accreditation standards.
- Maintains residency management software modules and user functionality.
- Performs other related duties assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of related experience; OR a combination of education and experience to equal six (6) years.
