Job Description

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Provides dental care to patients under the supervision of licensed dentist.

Essential Functions:

  • Examines and diagnoses patients with dental problems.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for patients.
  • Performs dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and root canals.
  • Prescribes medications and provides post-operative care instructions.
  • Documents patient care and maintains accurate records.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Education Requirement:

  • Graduate of an accredited dental school, or international equivalent, required.
  • All trainees functioning in NCH facilities must be in a program that has been approved by the NCH GMEC (Graduate Medical Education Committee) or in an approved residency program of an institution with which NCH has an educational affiliation agreement.

Licensure Requirement:

Dental License or Limited Resident License from the State of Ohio Dental Board, required.


Experience:

Meets requirements established by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), other applicable professional organizations, and NCH, for residency training, meets the requirements for the State of Ohio Dental Board for licensure as a resident, and has made application to NCH for participation in the Program.
