We bring the energy!

Through purpose and people - not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.

As the energy sector undergoes significant regulatory, technological, and operational change, we are seeking a General Manager, Strategy & Transformation to help shape and lead the next phase of our Digital & Technology journey.

This is a senior leadership role with a broad remit—bringing together strategy, regulation, governance, financial planning, partner management, and transformation into one integrated agenda that strengthens performance, resilience, and long‑term value.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the development and execution of Digital & Technology’s strategic transformation agenda. You’ll work at the intersection of business priorities, regulatory obligations, and operational reality—translating strategy into practical, coordinated delivery across a complex, regulated environment.

Key focus areas include:

  • Shaping and refreshing Digital & Technology strategy and priorities
  • Leading Digital input into regulatory proposals and funding submissions
  • Uplifting governance across risk, audit, and compliance
  • Owning financial planning, investment prioritisation, and commercial stewardship
  • Strengthening partner and vendor management
  • Driving enterprise‑level transformation and continuous improvement initiatives that materially lift capability, resilience, and execution discipline
  • You’ll prepare executive‑ready insights for leadership and Board forums, guide major transformation initiatives, and help embed stronger ownership, prioritisation, and accountability across the Digital function.

What You’ll Bring

You’re a strategic yet pragmatic leader with a strong track record in strategy, transformation, and operational improvement—ideally with a combination of Tier 1 consulting firms and having worked in a complex or regulated environments. You’re comfortable operating through ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and working across multiple stakeholders to drive outcomes.

You’ll bring:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in strategy, transformation, or technology‑enabled change
  • Strong commercial, financial, and governance capability
  • Experience working across internal teams and strategic partners to improve accountability and performance
  • Confidence engaging at ELT and Board level, with clear, influential communication
  • A calm, outcome‑focused leadership style and a commitment to continuous improvement
