Job Description

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced leader to join us as the Global Workplace Strategy Director - part of the Ford Land team. This dynamic individual is responsible for aligning Ford Motor Company’s physical footprint, technology, and business goals to optimize employee performance and real estate efficiency.

The Workplace Strategy Director will have direct responsibility for portfolio strategy, occupancy and space planning, workplace solutions and change management. This individual will deliver with support from a collaborative team providing global consistency and employee care and experience.

The ideal candidate is a transformational leader with a proven blend of problem-solving capabilities, an ability to prioritize initiatives using business judgement, and possesses technical knowledge of broad and detailed functional processes. Excellent communication skills and a high level of EQ are imperative to collaborating with multiple stakeholders across varied teams.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Develop and maintain a 5–10-year real estate portfolio strategic roadmap
  • Align Ford Motor Company business operations with optimized Occupancy and Space Planning delivery function globally
  • Evaluate real estate usage data determine optimal square footage, desk ratios, and spatial zoning
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Technology to implement supporting technology platform(s)
  • Support and advise senior and executive leaders on actions required to balance portfolio utilization and sequence global initiatives with enabling real estate solutions
  • Facilitate cross-functional strategic planning and prioritization of company initiatives with various Ford Land functions (e.g., Project Management, Design, WPX, Technology, etc.)
  • Build change management roadmaps and engage key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery; lead change by taking people on a journey through the process.
  • Identify continued opportunities for best practices, techniques, and tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, operations management, or related field
  • Experience leading Occupancy and Space planning teams
  • Strategic thinker who can approach problems with a creative and optimistic mindset and demonstrated ability of solving problems leveraging data
  • Flexible and detail-oriented, having exemplary time management and organizational skills
  • Capable of building relationships and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to have challenging conversation while remaining calm and solutions oriented

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters’ degree
  • Experience with business integration projects and rollouts
  • Results-driven with ability to dive deep into details while leading, motivating, and inspiring others
  • Demonstrated self-starter who thrives within a highly synergetic, multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Broad knowledge of business processes, business systems, and interrelationships between functions
