What role you will play in our team

The Exchange and Broker Management Analyst within the Global Business Center (GBC) team plays a critical role in supporting Global Trading and Market Risk operations by ensuring robust and compliant access management to commodity trading exchanges and brokers. Primary responsibilities of the role include administering trader and business access on exchanges and managing SAP Trading tables and setting up new brokers in Global Trading systems. Exchange and Broker Management Analysts also oversee key processes including the quarterly trader access review, interaffiliates pricing validation, and analysis of Trading Observations. Based at Bangalore ExxonMobil GBC office. Willing to work from early afternoon to late evening (around 10pm) supporting London trading hours.

What you will do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and quarterly trader access reviews for exchanges and brokers, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of trader permissions and access levels across systems.
  • Investigate and escalate any unauthorized access or anomalies in trading permissions.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of traders and business users to exchanges and brokers, ensuring timely and accurate setup or removal of access.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external brokers/exchanges to facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on exchange and broker administration processes to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and control.
  • Serve as a key contact point for Market Risk and Global Trading teams regarding exchange and broker access matters.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders on access-related issues and resolutions.
  • Maintain and update relevant data in systems such as SAP and other Global Trading platforms.
  • Support creation and maintenance of broker profiles and trading tables in internal systems.
  • Contribute to GBC-led initiatives focused on process improvement, automation, and control enhancement.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to exchange and broker administration.
  • Lead quarterly analysis of Trading observations inclusive of highlighting key insights

About You

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, math, statistics, economics, finance, or supply chain
  • 3 Years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, good coding skills preferred.
  • Experience in access management, compliance, or trading operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with trading systems (e.g., ETRM) and exchange/broker platforms
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to work with diverse group and the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-national and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Willing to work during early afternoon to late evening (around 10pm) supporting London trading hours.
  • Experience with or knowledge of financial derivatives, risk evaluation and management techniques
  • Strong preference for familiarity with trade capture and nomination / scheduling systems; must be proficient in Excel

Job Role Description

Responsible for monitoring trading activities for compliance with Market Risk Management policies and developing and maintaining tools for Global Trading activities. Independently identify, measure, and report trading exposures, P&L and the market risk of the portfolio of transactions that are executed and owned by the Commercial organization. Work with a dynamic, global team in a high-visibility role that provides advice to the Commercial organization on risk appetite, risk limit utilization and market risk mitigation strategies, and risk assessments and insights to senior management

Job Role Responsibilities

Market Risk Advisory & Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively deliver high-impact market risk insights through daily analysis and reporting of trading positions, exposures, TCM, and risk limit utilization. Apply advanced market and commodity analysis to generate insight and detect anomalies to provide input to trading strategies and risk mitigation. Engage consistently with refinery coordinators, schedulers, and traders to validate production data, inventory positions, and hedging signals, ensuring alignment between operational realities and trading decisions
Trade Integrity & Dynamic Exposure Management: Lead the daily oversight of exposure risk by maintaining rigorous position tracking and analysis. Identify and resolve trade booking discrepancies, data integrity issues, and abnormal exposure variations with urgency and precision. Act as a trusted risk partner to traders by providing timely alerts and recommendations, including Trade Money Management (TMM) and hedging options input, that safeguard against operational and financial risk
Analytical Excellence & Risk Methodology Leadership: Utilize and continuously refine advance risk analytics such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, and scenario analysis to enhance portfolio transparency and decision-making. Attest and recommend liquid and illiquid curve methodology against set principles. Leverage ETRM and analytical tools to deliver accurate, forward-looking risk assessments that support trading performance and capital efficiency
End-to-End Market Risk Process Mastery & Skill Evolution: Demonstrate deep understanding of the full market risk lifecycle - from trade capture and exposure modeling to risk reporting and limit governance - enabling swift and effective issue resolution across systems and stakeholders. Continuously build expertise in evolving market and commodity risk management techniques, including option trading, OTC swaps, and structured products. Stay ahead of industry developments to provide forward-looking insights and enhance the strategic value of risk advisory services
Systems Innovation & Capability Development: Champion cross-functional initiatives to elevate market risk capabilities through automation, system enhancements, and data infrastructure improvements. Drive continuous improvement by integrating best practices and emerging technologies, supporting highly automated, standardized, resilient, and trader-centric risk solutions
