As part of Fresenius Group HRLT, Group Total Rewards designs and governs global reward frameworks that support the #FutureFresenius strategy in the Rejuvenate phase (Upgrade, Scale, Perform). In this individual contributor role as Global Total Rewards Manager, you take ownership of our global merit and short-term incentive (STI) processes and, more broadly, shape the reward mechanisms around them. You turn analysis into clear design decisions, align them across countries, and make sure they are applied consistently.
Own and evolve the global merit process end-to-end – eligibility, guidelines, guardrails, budget logic, and the annual planning and review cycle.
Develop and ownthe global short-term incentive (STI) payout and accrual process – funding, guidelines and payout logic – in close alignment with the separately owned performance management process.
Shape the broader reward mechanisms around them: market pricing and benchmarking, pay structures and bands, and LTI where relevant.
Turn structured analyses – market practice, cost and scenario modelling – into clear design decisions, KPIs (e.g. competitiveness, pay equity, compliance) and recommendations for leadership.
Align reward designs with stakeholders across countries and functions – including Finance on budget and cost – and ensure consistent application.
Interpret reward-related regulation (incl. EU Pay Transparency), set global standards, and turn them into practical guidance and documentation for HR teams.
Lead the change management and communication for both new reward frameworks and the recurring annual cycle – including training and enablement so HR teams and the business adopt them confidently.
Several years of hands-on Compensation / Total Rewards experience in a multinational environment (typically 8+ years).
Experience from a rewards consultancy (e.g. Mercer, WTW, Korn Ferry, Aon) or an in-house transformation role is a strong plus – you’ve advised on reward design and now want to own it end-to-end.
Strong track record in designing and governing global Merit and STI programs – eligibility, guidelines, funding and payout logic; LTI experience is a plus.
Solid command of the wider reward toolkit: market pricing and benchmarking, pay structures and pay equity.
Confident working with HR cloud systems (e.g. Workday)
Strong analytical skills (compensation costing, scenario modelling, pay equity), paired with the ability to partner with Finance and influence senior stakeholders in decision-making.
Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
