Within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Specialty Diagnostics business, the ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD) plays a critical role in helping clinicians identify and manage allergy and autoimmune disease through accurate, reliable diagnostic insights. For patients, the right diagnostic answer can mean a clearer path to treatment, relief from unresolved symptoms, and better-informed care decisions. Medical and Scientific Affairs is the bridge between science, clinical practice, and business strategy—ensuring that IDD’s diagnostic innovation is supported by credible evidence, clear medical communication, and strong scientific partnership across global and regional teams.
The Senior Manager Allergy will support the global execution of Medical and Scientific Affairs activities and will be responsible to develop and execute the scientific research strategy for the global allergy portfolio. You will ensure medical and scientific support for allergy related topics throughout the organization and will support regional commercial organizations regarding areas related to value demonstration. This role is part of the Medical and Scientific Affairs Team and will report to the Global Medical Director Allergy within Medical and Scientific Affairs.
You will also generate and communicate evidence that realizes timely, maintained, and appropriate patient access to IDD's innovative diagnostics. Medical and Scientific Affairs supports external & internal stakeholders/customers.
What you will do:
Develop strategies for generating evidence within Allergy
Plan, design and monitor studies of strategic importance
Drive clinical collaborations within Allergy
Disseminate relevant scientific/clinical evidence internally and externally
Support and develop high level KOLs for effective research and access strategies
Validate Business Development opportunities from a clinical and scientific point of view
Actively participate in the Clinical Approval Board
Actively participate in the selection process for Thermo Fisher Scientfic Allergy Research Award
Actively participate in arranging and hosting the International Molecular Allergology Workshop held in Uppsala every second year.
Assure alignment with Clinical Guidelines in Scientific & Medical activities
Support scientific programs at congresses and company-sponsored symposia
Develop, maintain and make accessible Value Dossiers in the field of Allergy
Internally, act as consultant providing medical and scientific expertise to other functions (e.g. Lifecycle Teams, R&D, Commercial Organizations, QA/RA)
Review and evaluate scientific literature continuously
How you will get here:
Education:
Doctoral degree (such as PhD, MD, PharmD) in Life Sciences
Strong scientific knowledge in clinical and laboratory research methods
Understands factors driving market access and how clinical evidence can support access decisions
Experience and Skills:
Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or diagnostics industry
A track record of delivering relevant clinical evidence, dossier adaptations, and of scientific publications in relevant professional and peer reviewed scientific journals
Past experience collaborating with clinical, medical, and commercial stakeholders in a matrix organization
Demonstrated ability to operate independently, to take initiative, be resourceful, and exercise astute business judgment to drive performance
Demonstrated ability to synthesize clinical and scientific data and influence strategy development
Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written presentation skills
Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications is required
International experience is required, as well as demonstrated cultural awareness

Travel requirements: Up to 50% international travel, as and when required but not on a regualar basis.
