The Amazon Private Brands Global Sourcing team is looking for customer-obsessed, driven individuals to lead vendor life cycle management including new supplier onboarding, product sourcing, and driving on-going business growth for our Consumable Private Brands business. The role will manage the global sourcing process from A to Z including vendor relationship and P&L management, cost negotiation, and product planning. You will interact with almost every function in a global context across Amazon Private Brands, including Quality, Category Business Management, Product Development and Program Teams.

The candidate must have strong business acumen, strategic agility and a knack for identifying opportunities to design / implement long-term solutions. He or she must be capable of driving business impact and delivering results while dealing with ambiguity. A successful candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative, analytical, creative, and fast-paced environment. The candidate is willing to roll up sleeves and get things done. The ideal candidate is experienced in working in a global team dealing with multi-stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
· Supplier development and management toward driving P&L growth in Consumables categories including Health Care, Personal Care, Baby Care, Household Consumables, Nutrition & Wellness and Pet Care.
· Identify business optimization opportunities and drive sourcing excellence leveraging global industry knowledge, vendor negotiation, resourcing and cost benchmarking within the consumables sector.
· Partner with Category Business Managers, Supply Chain, Quality, and other stakeholder teams to develop sourcing and fulfillment strategies across multiple consumable categories and launch products globally.
· Drive for continual improvement and innovation across our sourcing activities, including vendor management, cost engineering, portfolio optimization, value optimization etc.
· Leverage deep understanding of consumable product manufacturing, food safety standards (including FDA, USDA, and international equivalents), regulatory compliance requirements, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) supply chain dynamics to optimize sourcing decisions.
· Ensure supplier compliance with relevant food safety certifications (such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Brand Reputation Compliance (BRC), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) and quality management systems for consumable products.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools and processes and elevate operation efficiency for vendors and sourcing team.
· Write professional business documents for business updates and drive strategic initiatives for stakeholders’ alignment.

Amazon Private Brand Global Sourcing team partners with suppliers capable of producing and shipping high-quality consumable products globally, with a focus on driving profitable and sustainable business growth.

Basic Qualifications


- 3+ years of supply chain management, planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management or program management experience
- Experience in product, program, or project management leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
- Knowledge of consumer product compliance processes and regulations
- Experience working in business procurement organizations of a consumer market segment company
- Knowledge of SQL/Python/R, scripting, MS Excel, table joins, and aggregate analytical functions

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of SQL and VBA at an advanced level
- Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization
- MBA, or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- 3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment experience
- Master's degree, or experience in consumer products and have completed at least two product life cycles
- Master's degree, or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
