Job Description
-Director of Sandoz End-to-end accountability for Sandoz’s global multi-cloud platforms, including end-to-end Service Delivery, Engineering, and Operations. The position leads the strategic direction and implementation of cloud architecture, security, governance, and continuous evolution of capabilities across multi-cloud environments.
Strategy & service portfolio leadership
- Deliver the global cloud strategy aligned to enterprise architecture and business priorities, with measurable impact in platform resilience, delivery speed and cost efficiency.
- Own the Cloud services portfolio and roadmap to meet agreed service levels (availability, performance, recoverability and capacity) while optimising total cost of ownership and standardising platform offerings.
- Support the integration of Sandoz Cloud platform capabilities with the adoption of SaaS product adoption like SAP Rise
- Partner with the Cloud Service Providers to build a strategic partnership
Platform engineering
- Ensure services Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies to accelerate delivery and reduce operational toil.
- Implement configuration management and orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes) to drive operational efficiency.

Operational excellence, security & compliance
- Maintain stable, secure and compliant operations across regulated (GxP) and non‑regulated environments, achieving audit‑ready controls, timely remediation of findings and sustained adherence to governance standards.
- Deliver resilient and compliant services that meet agreed availability and performance targets, enabling predictable release execution and supporting SAP transformation milestones in partnership with application and business teams.
Commercial, financial & supplier management
- Deliver transparent financial management and cost optimisation (budget/forecast accuracy, showback/chargeback, unit cost visibility) to improve cost predictability and drive measurable savings without compromising service levels.
- Hold strategic suppliers and cloud partners accountable to contracted outcomes (SLA achievement, incident/problem performance, security obligations and continuous improvement), supported by clear KPIs, governance and escalation.
People leadership & stakeholder governance
- Build and lead a high‑performing, globally distributed organisation with clear ownership and capability development, driving engagement, retention and succession coverage for critical roles.
- Ensure end‑to‑end service integration with Infrastructure & Operations, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, SIAM and Application teams, improving customer experience through clear governance, prioritisation and transparent performance reporting.
Key Performance Indicators
- Service reliability & performance: achievement of agreed cloud platform service levels (availability, performance, scalability and cost) for business‑critical services
- Resilience & continuity: successful DR and restore testing and adherence to defined RTO/RPO targets for in‑scope platforms
- Security & compliance outcomes: audit readiness (incl. GxP where applicable), timely closure of audit findings, and vulnerability/patch remediation within agreed timelines
- Financial performance: forecast accuracy and effective control of run costs, demonstrated through unit cost transparency and cost optimisation benefits delivered
- Automation & operational efficiency: increased self‑service/automation adoption and reduction of manual effort and repeat incidents (toil reduction) in hosting and SAP operations
- Supplier performance: contracted outcomes achieved with strategic suppliers/cloud partners (SLA attainment, quality of delivery, continuous improvement value realised and effective governance)
- Roadmap execution & service experience: delivery of agreed platform roadmap milestones (standardisation, lifecycle refresh, cloud migration/modernisation) and improved stakeholder satisfaction through transparent performance reporting
