Job Description

Short description:
Help shape top-down US IG credit views through data-driven research, modeling, and client-ready insights.

Introductory marketing language:
Join a dynamic macro research team where rigorous analysis and clear thinking directly influence how major fixed income investors position portfolios. You’ll turn complex market and macro signals into actionable credit strategy insights for internal partners and external clients.

Credit Strategy is an intellectually stimulating, data-centric function that forms a top-down view on credit markets. As a Credit Strategy Analyst, you will support the US Investment Grade (IG) credit strategy franchise end-to-end—tracking spreads and technicals daily, maintaining the data infrastructure behind market views, monitoring macro developments through a credit lens, and contributing to flagship publications. You will work closely with senior strategists while developing and communicating your own market perspectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day monitoring of US IG spread markets, technicals, and macro catalysts; filter signal from noise and flag key drivers of spread direction
  • Build, maintain, and enhance data models and infrastructure (including large Excel models with VBA) to improve efficiency, expand scope, and automate workflows using SQL and Python
  • Support flagship strategy publications by identifying evolving trends, running scenario analysis, and performing valuation and relative value analysis
  • Write concise, client-ready research notes and contribute clearly reasoned conclusions to publications
  • Communicate views effectively in live discussions, internal debates, and client-facing conversations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Self-starter mindset with strong intellectual curiosity for markets and credit
  • Strong quantitative skills and comfort working with large datasets across Excel, SQL, and Python (not a programmer role, but requires enjoyment of coding to derive research insights)
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capability; fluency with AI-enabled tools to work faster and smarter
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills; clear, concise, and decisive under time pressure
  • Strong passion for markets and curiosity about how industries and companies evolve

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficiency with Bloomberg
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word and PowerPoint)
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or ability/willingness to obtain)
