R&D Sustainability, Compliance and Quality Manager

As Global Regulatory & Public Affairs Specialist, you will drive regulatory intelligence, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy activities that support compliance, business continuity, and growth. In this highly visible role, you will monitor regulatory developments, assess business impacts, and help shape strategies that align global regulatory requirements with ABB's business objectives.

You will work closely with colleagues across R&D, Product Management, Sustainability, Trade Compliance and Supply Chain, while also representing ABB in industry associations, technical forums, and discussions with policymakers and regulatory stakeholders. Your work will contribute to positioning ABB as a trusted voice and thought leader in key regulatory and standards-related topics.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess international, regional, and national regulatory developments affecting the IEC Low Voltage Motors business.
• Develop and maintain a regulatory landscape map and strategic roadmap aligned with divisional business priorities.
• Analyze regulatory risks and opportunities, communicate impacts to stakeholders, and recommend actions to ensure compliance and business readiness.
• Represent ABB in relevant industry associations, regulatory working groups, and external stakeholder forums, advocating for the division's interests.
• Collaborate across multiple functions to provide regulatory guidance and support product, technology, and business decisions.
• Develop and deliver awareness and training initiatives that strengthen regulatory knowledge and promote a culture of compliance.

The position is based in Sweden (Vasteras), Finland (Vaasa) or Germany (Mannheim). We offer a hybrid working model; however, the role requires regular on-site presence at the local office.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience working with regulatory affairs, standards development, public affairs, compliance, or related fields in an international environment.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, standards organizations, and how regulations impact industrial products and technologies.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions and with external stakeholders, including industry associations, government agencies, and policymakers.
• Experience from the industrial, manufacturing, automation, motors and drives, or comparable sectors is highly valued.
• Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Political Science, International Studies, or another relevant discipline.
• Fluent English communication skills are required. German language skills are a strong advantage and highly desirable.
