Job Description

The Global Regulatory Compliance Intern will join the Global Regulatory Compliance team and support the review of international business contracts and transactions to help ensure alignment with applicable laws and company policies. This internship provides hands-on exposure to global regulatory frameworks, contract analysis, and risk assessment within a large, matrixed organization.

The Intern will work closely with compliance and legal professionals and gain practical experience in areas including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act, antitrust laws, human rights considerations, and other international regulatory requirements. The Intern will also support the Enterprise Risk Management program which will involve exposure to additional business units. This role offers meaningful learning opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to complex international business matters.

Primary Responsibilities:

Contract Review and Regulatory Research Support

  • Conduct research on global compliance topics, regulations, and legislation, and summarize findings for internal stakeholders.

  • Help document compliance review findings clearly and accurately.

  • Support preparation of risk summaries and draft mitigation considerations for team review.

Global Compliance Program Support

  • Maintain organized records of compliance reviews, research memoranda, and supporting documentation.

  • Support tracking of recurring compliance themes, regulatory updates, and risk trends.

  • Contribute to updates of internal compliance guidance materials and reference tools.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Special Projects

  • Observe and support cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Contracts, Supply Chain, and Business Development teams.

  • Conduct open-source research in support of reputational risk reviews.

  • Assist with compliance-related special projects, which may include support to components of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.

  • Participate in internal compliance meetings and training sessions to gain exposure to governance and risk management practices.

  • Design and develop presentations for a wide range of audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated interest in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, ethics, or international business law.

  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework in business, political science, anti-corruption law, international law, corporate compliance, or risk management.

  • Prior internship or academic experience involving legal research, contracts, compliance, or regulatory analysis.

  • Interest in working in a highly regulated industry such as defense, government contracting, or international business.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $41,600.00 - $75,200.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
