REPORTING LINE

Direct report to either Global Product Manager, Support Function Manager or local RBS Manager Functional report to Global RBS Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

General Principles

The Environmental Program Manager - Acts as the overall owner of operation execution for SCS Environmental Programs, ensuring consistency, quality, and continuous improvement across the network. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the operational and administrative activities, including performance, monitoring and communications.
  • Communicate program requirements and updates to the network.
  • Ensure the procedures are followed by the executing affiliates of the network and monitor the effectiveness of procedures across the BA network to ensure delivery of services in line with SGS BA requirements and program expectations.
  • Ensure Continuous improvement and promote technical excellence across the network related to SCS Environmental Programs.
  • Support the Global Product Manager and/or Program Scheme Manager in growth and development of the programs under their responsibility.

Where the Environmental Program Manager delegates part or all activities to colleagues, they remain responsible for ensuring that all elements are covered.

The specific SCS Environmental programs within the responsibility of the Environmental Program Manager will be agreed and approved of by the Global Product Manager or equivalent.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES

Operational/Administrative Activities

  • Responsible for management of the Program (VB) Dashboard, including performance metrics.
  • Oversee submission of verification/audit schedules to meet program requirements.
  • Support the Scheme Manager in the development of tools such as procedures, guidance documents, etc. for the program.
  • Advise and coordinate the development of environmental auditor capability throughout the network.
  • Liaise with RBS Managers and Regional Managers where appropriate to make sure the Program can be executed by (EA) in conformity with the program specifications including capacity management.

Program Communication

  • Maintenance of internal and external contact lists to support program update communication.
  • Distribute program updates and requirements internally and collect feedback from affiliates to share with scheme owners or other stakeholders in coordination with the Scheme Manager
  • Ensure the regular update of internal sharepoints with relevant policies, procedures and documents.
  • Provide a single point of communication between SGS and external QA or oversight organizations regarding performance or KPIs.

Monitoring of performance

  • Liaise with the Global Operations Efficiency Manager and affiliate Operations managers regarding any issues with operations or performance of auditors or affiliates within the scope of the programs they manage.
  • Management of program complaints:
  1. Oversight and review of investigative actions carried out by concerned affiliates and communication of investigation results to the external QA or oversight organization, where required.
  2. Monitor completion of CAPs and overall program KPIs.
  3. Provide recommendations to the Scheme Manager generated from performance monitoring, technical review and other feedback to improve execution of the program.

Apply and support SGS Integrity policies

  • Where applicable, support the global team in investigating or managing outcomes from investigations in relation to integrity issues.
  • Manage any expectations in relation to conflict of interest and impartiality in relation to the Program.

Qualifications

PROFILE

  • At least 3 years’ experience in program management including responsibilities involving program communication, operational management, administrative support and performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, expertise or training in ISO certification, compliance auditing, verification of companies/manufacturing sites or equivalent.
  • Experience with environmental topics covering environmental management systems, climate/energy use, water, wastewater, solid waste, air emissions or chemical management or environmental standards (Higg FEM, amfori BEPI schemes GHG Protocol, ISO 14001, etc).
  • Higg FEM audit experience would be a strong advantage.
  • Self starter with excellent communication skills.
  • Full fluency in English is a must have
